I am very excited to see this website dedicated to surya bhagavan. I am a devotee of surya bhagavan and regular reader of Adityahrudayam. He is mithra of the universe, his experiences are amazing. I have started developing ** site to provide surya bhagavan details. In Temples link I am planning to provide all surya bhagavan temples in the world. In Akshya Patra link I want to provide all social organizations information helping the needy people. I request all of you to have a look into this site and give your valuable inputs to make it more informative.

Best Wishes

I am very pleased to say that we have a temple right across our street in florida! It's amazingly beautiful and can't wait to see if they offer classes of classical dance for my 4 year old daughter to learn.

Namaskar:
I am very pleased to see that there is a temple that I can attend with my children. I would like to thank all those concerned for their good work.
Now bringing up teenagers to appreciate their Bharatiya (Indian) cultural and spiritual roots--in the often challenging context of western culture and religion—I recently found Maya Radj's (free) online novel ‘R's Journey – The Wounded Elephant’ very useful. I recommend this uplifting novel to persons of Indian origin living abroad. It can be downloaded (free) at **
In the form of an entertaining story (a young Indian eager to migrate to the USA who discovers the value of his cultural, spiritual and philosophical heritage during a journey across Bharat after an initial meeting with his guru), this book is a contemporary crash course on Sanatan Dharm -- our eternal way of life, our values and philosophy.
I read it with my kids and we smiled as we recognized many current, vividly depicted aspects of Indian migration to the West. We were also carried away by Maya Radj’s clear explanation of key spiritual, philosophical and cultural treasures of Bharat, embedded within an emotionally gripping tale. My children now feel that they understand and can explain previously ‘mysterious’ aspects of our culture and values.
The message is that Bharat, the ‘Wounded Elephant’ that once led the world to civilization, may still heal and rise again.
For the benefit of others, I suggest that you consider providing the novel’s website link through your notice board, newsletter or website links page. To convince yourself of its value, simply read the book's glossary of over 200 terms.

Ras-Lila of Lord Shri Krishna!
Once again the children of Shri Surya Narayan Mandir - most of whom are not trained in the execution of drama, with the exception of the dancers who are students and teachers of that genre - have exemplified! The show at The Sterling on Sunday, December 14th, 2008 can be deemed a success. Hats off to the Directors of this show. Lots of hard work, time and dedication. Looking forward to the next production.

Suggestions/Inquiry:
1) SSNM has over the years done quite a few shows. How come these shows are not on DVDs or in the Mandir library for future viewing or purchase???
2) Next show should be done on an elevated stage so that the audience can see every characters. The Sterling's stage is not appropriate for this. It is most appropriate for speeches (standing up of course).
3) The sound system was not at peek capacity on Sunday (and has been the issue for many events at the mandir) even though the two songs done by the two most talented devotees (Nishini and Vidya), their voices came over as booming and ragged. For non-mandir members in attendance they could not appreciate their rendition. Why not invest in a proper sound system to reflect the SSNM stature?

Now that we have the ground work of the site started, why not some prayers, slokas, strothas, etc. exemplifying the name of Shri Surya Narayan Bhagwan??? Most appropriate should be: Surya Dev Chalisa and Aaditya Hridayam.

Long live the organizing body of Shri Surya Narayan Mandir!!!

ShockedWow! Major improvements from the last (prior) website. Keep up the good work! Maybe we can see some Surya Narayan - prayers, stotras, stuties, chalisa, bhajans/kirtans, etc??? May Surya Bhagwan continues to bless one and all associated with this site's development and this most beautiful place of worship. May the spirit of the Late, Great Dharmaarchaya lives on - always. (He was special).
